TEXAS HAUNTERS CONVENTION
Since March, with many folks spending more time at home, daily life has been a blur. It can be hard to remember what day it is when time seems to be move both too fast and too slow. But rest assured: It is not yet October. Halloween is not just around the corner, despite costume shops popping up in empty storefronts and this weekend’s holiday expo in Mesquite. But feel free to plan ahead for some spooky fun. The Texas Haunters Convention will feature more than 41,000 square feet of familyfriendly vendors, events, entertainment, demonstrations and classes for both trickortreaters and haunted house professionals. This year, visitors will be required to wear protective face coverings and have their temperature checked. Hand sanitizer will be available, and the show will be designed to allow social distancing.
July 2526 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mesquite Convention Center, 1750 Rodeo Drive, Mesquite. (Some special events will take place outside these hours; see website for full schedule.) $15$20 for adults, $6$10 for children 212, free for children under 2. Prices vary for VIP packages, classes, workshops, tours and other special events. texashauntersconvention.com.

TEXAS HAUNTERS CONVENTION
The Dallas Morning News 26 Jul 2019
It’s no shock that macabre marauders convene in months other than October. In fact, the best costumes and decor require months of preparation, which you can begin at this chilling con. More than 35,000 square feet will be filled with vendors, demonstrations, entertainment and classes. Whether you want to learn stilt walking or how to make shrunken heads, there’s a workshop for your ghastly curiosity. Dress up for a costume ball, sit in on a creepypasta story time and see a stage show by Dark Hour Haunted House.
■ July 26 from 5 to 10 p.m., July 27 from 10 a.m. to midnight, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mesquite Convention Center, 1750 Rodeo Drive, Mesquite. $15-$20 for adults, $6-$10 for children 2-12, free for children under 2. Prices vary for VIP packages, classes, workshops, tours and other special events. texashauntersconvention.com.
